Barbara Ann Landon

Barbara Ann Landon, age 63, of Lancaster, passed away on Wednesday, November 17 , 2010, at her residence in rural Lancaster surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 27, 1947 in Lancaster, WI, the daughter of Donald and Mildred (Bellis) Bendorf.

Barb attended Hurricane and Farview rural schools. She graduated from Lancaster High School in 1965, and then attended Southwest Technical College in Fennimore and received a degree in Dietary Management. Barb married Gary W. Landon on October 7, 1995 at the Lancaster United Methodist Church.

She farmed and was employed at the Kroger Grocery Store in Lancaster; owned and operated B & Js Custom Casuals; and was employed as the dietary manager for 25 years at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster. Barb was the Pigeon Valley 4-H Club leader; a member of St. Clement Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters of America; and a member of the Lancaster United Methodist Church. She taught Sunday school, enjoyed painting, cooking, card club, and going to the casinos. She dearly loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Gary, of Lancaster, her children: Phillip (Holly) Muench, Lancaster; Matthew Muench, Potosi; James (Kelly) Muench, Lancaster; Marie (John) Wamsley, Darlington; Mark (Melissa) Muench, Prairie Du Chien; Ted Landon, Lancaster; and Debbie (Jon) McGrath, Charlotte, NC; 13 grandchildren, and one on the way; her brothers and sisters,: John (LuAnn) Bendorf, Lancaster; Nancy (John) Poller, Belmont; Marcia (Mike) Shaw, Fond du Lac; Jeff Bendorf , Madison; Paula (Mike) Byers, Blue Mounds; and Rhonda (Marty) Welsh, Mt. Vernon; her mother-in-law, Ruby Landon, Lancaster, and her family; and her former mother-in-law, Helen Muench, Lancaster, and her family.

Barb was preceded in death by her parents; her father-in-law, Virgil Landon; her former husband, Gary Muench; and her former father-in-law, Leo Muench.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, November 20, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. at the Lancaster United Methodist Church with Pastor Barbara Cook officiating. Burial was in the Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster. Family and friends called on Friday, November 19, 2010, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Lancaster United Methodist Church and from 9:30 a.m. until time of services on Saturday at the church. Jason B. Landon

Jason B. Landon, age 37, of Beetown, passed away Jan. 4, 2012. He was born February 27, 1974 in Lancaster, the son of Larry and June (Arms) Landon. Jason graduated from Lancaster High School in 1993. He attended Southwest Technical College in Fennimore enrolled in the Ag Mechanics course. Together with his twin brother Jeremy, they owned and operated L B Fencing. Jason also operated a logging and dozing business with his brother Josh. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing. Jason felt his work was his hobby, and always walked through life with a smile.

Surviving are his beloved daughters; Amber Landon and Rebecca Giesen. The love of his life, Rachel Hines and her son Tyler; his parents, Larry and June Landon; his twin Jeremy (fiance Jody Laufenberg); brothers, Jamie (Andrea) and Joshua (Jody Schweitzer) Landon; grandmother Wilma Landon, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, Rachels parents and family, and his former wife, Misty and her family.

He was preceded by his grandparents; Byron Landon, Eldon and Lois Arms; cousin, Tyler Bausch; uncle, Donald Arms and aunts, Judy (Bill) Haberkorn and Winifred Ene Landon.

Funeral services were held on Monday, January 9, 2012 at 10:30 am at the Lancaster United Methodist Church with Rev. Barbara Cook officiating. Burial was in the Beetown Cemetery. Friends called on Sunday, January 8, 2012 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm. at the church and on Monday from 9:30 am until time of services. In lieu of plants and flowers a Jason B. Patricia Lange

Patricia M. Lange, age 84, of Platteville, died Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at Meriter Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. Patricia was born to William H. and Edith M. Brinkley on September 8, 1930 in Quincy, Illinois. Pat graduated from LaCrosse High School in 1948, and then from UW LaCrosse with a teaching degree in 1951. On June 21, 1953 Pat was united in marriage to Russell M. Lange in LaCrosse. They made their home in Platteville where they raised their family.

She was active in the community as a Cub Scout leader, the Hospital Womens Auxiliary, a Red Cross volunteer, and was a regular on the Wednesday Afternoon Bowling League. Pat was a long time member of the First English Lutheran Church where she served in many capacities. At home she enjoyed gardening, sewing, needlecrafts, and the outdoors.

On March 24, 2012 Pat married John P. Klosterman, formerly of Platteville. They have enjoyed traveling and visiting their extended families.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Russell M. Lange on July 21, 1998.

She is survived by her husband, John Klosterman; daughter, Amy (Jeff) Liddle of Chugiak, AK; two sons: Tim (Sue) Lange of Milton, WI, and Ted (Mary) Lange of Apopka, FL; seven grandchildren, Brian (Kristi) Liddle of Henderson, NV, Kelsey (David) Horne St. Louis, MO, Grant Lange of Appleton, WI, David Lange of Janesville, WI and Parker, Vanessa, and Katie Lange of Apopka, FL; a brother-in-law, Chuck (Ellen) Lange of Santa Fe, NM; and nephew Jonathan Lange and niece Jennifer Lange.

Funeral Services were held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, October 25, 2014, at First English Lutheran Church in Platteville, with Reverend Michael Short officiating. A light luncheon immediately followed. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Platteville. Friends called from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services Saturday at the church. Bernice Langkamp

Bernice D. Langkamp, age 95, passed away surrounded by her family in Janesville on Friday, July 12, 2013. She was born on April 7, 1918, in Belmont, the daughter of Walter and Stella (Martens) Riechers. Bernice attended Faulkton Public Schools, Faulkton, South Dakota, graduating from Faulkton High School with the class of 1936. In June of 1939, she moved back to Platteville where she was employed as a legal secretary for Kopp McKichan and Geyer law firm in Platteville. Bernice has been a member of St. Pauls Evangelical Lutheran Church in Platteville since 1939. On October 19, 1942, she was united in marriage to Raymond G. Langkamp in Watertown, South Dakota. Later, Bernice was employed as an administrative secretary at the University of Wisconsin - Platteville, retiring in 1984.

Survivors include her son, James (Lynn) Langkamp, Janesville; her daughter, Marsha (Bernard) Hudson, Tarzana, CA; five grandchildren: Grant and Jamie Langkamp, both of Janesville; Karris, Torry, and Brandon Hudson, all of Tarzana, CA; many nieces, nephews, cousins and members of the Riechers and Langkamp family.

Bernice was preceded in death by her parents.

Lavern E. Langkamp

Lavern E. Langkamp, age 63, of Madison, formerly of Potosi, died on Friday, January 01, 2010, at HospiceCare Inc., in Fitchburg. He was born on December 25, 1946, in Dubuque, IA, the son on John and Germaine (Schmitz) Langkamp. Lavern was employed at American Family Insurance in the mail department. He was a member of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church in Madison and enjoyed doing arts and crafts, going to movies, and Very Special Arts. He also loved watching the Price is Right.

Harold P. Langmeier

Harold P. Langmeier, age 86, of Potosi, died Friday, November 1, 2013, at the Lancaster Care Center. He was born on October 27, 1927, in Potosi Township, the son of Wes and Theresa (Markus) Langmeier. Harold served his country in the United States Army from December 11, 1950 until his honorable discharge on June 20, 1952. He farmed near Potosi for many years. Harold later did carpentry work for David & Burnham Lumber for many years. He was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, Tennyson and the Berg Averkamp VFW Post No. 5276 of Potosi. Harold loved attending his grandchildrens sporting events, fishing, gardening and was an avid Cardinals and Green Bay Packer fan.

Survivors include Wilma Jean Langmeier; his six children: Barb (Tom) Brogley, Platteville; Pauline (Steve) Campbell, Mesa, AZ; Richard (Diane) Langmeier, Potosi; Kathy (friend Larry Eckhart) Loeffelholz; Mike (Terri) Langmeier; and Ken Langmeier, all of Potosi; fourteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Pat Langmeier, Prairie du Chien; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by four brothers: Edward, Adolph, Maynard and Bernard Ben Langmeier and three sisters, Imelda Wiest, Delores Dressler, and Lucella in infancy.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 6, 2013, at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Tennyson, WI, with Fr. Richard Leffler officiating. Burial with military honors was in St. Andrew Cemetery, Tennyson. Friends called from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at St. Andrew Catholic Church, and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church. Sabrina Langmeier

Sabrina C. Langmeier, age 58, of Patch Grove, went to Heaven on Sunday, June 21, 2015, at home surrounded by her loving family. Sabrina was born June 15, 1957, in Mesa, Arizona to Casimiro "Cas" and Dorothy (Christ) Hurtado. On April 4, 1981, she married James G. Langmeier at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. A loving wife to Jim and beloved mother of three sons, Joseph, Michael, and Keith, family was her heart and joy. Farming with her family brought her much happiness. Sabrina was a patient and kind friend to all. A woman of strong faith, Sabrina was a member of St. Johns Catholic Church. She enjoyed watching the Milwaukee Brewers and a good fish on the end of her line.

Sabrina is survived by her beloved husband of 34 years, Jim; their sons, Joe, Mike and Keith (Amy) and beautiful granddaughter, Greta Jean Langmeier all of Patch Grove; one sister, Charlamen Hurtado, Glendale, AZ; two brothers, Cas (Susan) Hurtado, Scottsdale, AZ, Greg Hurtado, Kingsburg, CA; mother-in-law, Pat Langmeier, Lancaster; sisters and brothers-in-law, Janet Langmeier, Denver, CO, Ann (Greg) Quick, Prairie du Chien, Peg (Roger)Guthrie, Bagley, Pete (Gail) Langmeier, Mt. Arthur C. Larkin

Arthur C. Larkin, age 84, of Lancaster, died on Wednesday, October 7, 2009, at Orchard Manor Nursing Home, Lancaster. He was born on July 6, 1925, in Jamestown, New York, the son of Joseph and Violet (Chisholm) Larkin. In 1943, he graduated from Lakewood High School in New York. Arthur enlisted in the United States Army Air Corp and was honorably discharged at the end of World War II. On August 24, 1946, he was united in marriage to Margery F. Willis at the First Presbyterian Church in Lancaster. Arthur was employed with the Bailey Oil Company and later, Farmers Telephone Company. Arthur was a member of the Congregational Church in Lancaster, where he served as a church officer, the Warrens Lodge No. 4 of Potosi, the Richard Burns American Legion Post No. 109 of Lancaster and was a former member of the Lancaster Jaycees. He enjoyed golfing, gardening, and needlepoint. Arthur was an avid Wisconsin Badger fan, holding season tickets since the 1960s.

In addition to his parents, Arthur was preceded in death by his wife, Margery on June 13, 2005.

Survivors include his two daughters: Sue (Helmut) Bolk, Delafield and Margee (Matt) Bagley, Platteville; four grandchildren: Bryan Bolk, Tami Bolk, Andrea Neis, and Celia Neis; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, October 10, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. at Schwartz Funeral Home in Lancaster with Rev. Mark Dieter officiating. Burial with military honors was held in Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster. Friends may call on Saturday, October 10, 2009, from 11:00 am. until time of services at the funeral home. A Masonic service was held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at Schwartz Funeral Home. John J. Larmour

John J. Larmour, age 81, of Cassville, died peacefully on Tuesday, March 31, 2009, at Orchard Manor Nursing Home in rural Lancaster after a short battle with cancer. He was born on June 24, 1927, in Providence, Rhode Island, the son of John and Odilia (Beausoliel) Larmour. His parents died when he was young and he went to live with his Aunt Dina and her two daughters, Dottie and Ruthie. They preceded him in death. John was married for 25 years to Verda Mae (Wilson) Kruger and was a wonderful father to her twin sons, Dale and Gale. She preceded him in death on December 3, 1984. He married Mary (Weber) Vosberg on November 23, 1985. John felt very fortunate to have had not one, but two, wonderful wives in his lifetime. John was in the military for almost nine years and served overseas during World War II. He served in the 850^th Aviation Engineering Batallion and in the 8^th Army Air Force. He served in France and Germany during the Allied push through Europe. John was a boilermaker for 20 years. He then worked as a welder, plumber, and HVAC specialist at John Deere Works for 16 years until his retirement in 1990. John and Verda Mae owned and operated Krugers Supper Club in Cassville for 20 years.

John was a special dad and grandpa. He will be remembered for his great stories, his devotion to Verda Mae and Mary, his loyalty to the Cubs and the Green Bay Packers, his love for gardening, his spaghetti sauce, and his good times with friends.

Survivors include his wife, Mary, Cassville; his children: Dale (Diane) Kruger, Cassville; Gale Kruger, Dalian, China; Jane (the late John) Crotty, South Wayne; Janet (Robert) Eppers, The Villages, Florida; Thomas (Kathleen) Vosberg, Gratiot; grandchildren: Kristopher, Kevin, and Kenneth Kruger, John and James Kruger, Shelly Beaver, Kim Schiferl, Kerri Bartholf, Lisa Huschke, Mark Eppers, Kristen Aguirre and Elizabeth Daly; 17 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

John was also preceded in death by his parents and his twin brother who died as a child.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 4, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville with Father John Norder officiating. Burial with military honors conducted by the VFW Post No. 7080 of Cassville was in St. Charles Cemetery, Cassville. Friends called on Saturday, April 4, 2009, from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. Martin Funeral Home in Cassville is assisting the family.

The family requests no flowers. Because John enjoyed welding, the family plans to create a scholarship for a student attending a vocational school in that field.

John H. Larson

John H. Jack Larson, age 91, of Lancaster, died on Saturday, February 25, 2012, at Orchard Manor Nursing Home, rural Lancaster. He was born on January 3, 1921, in Chippewa Falls, the son of Ole G. and Muriel Mae (Forrester) Larson. John graduated from Chippewa Falls High School and entered the United States Navy. He served his country from 1939 until 1945. On July 7, 1950, John was united in marriage to Joyce Flug in LaCrosse. He sold insurance for Employee Mutual of Wausau for twenty-seven years. John was a member of the Lancaster United Methodist Church and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, playing golf and walking. He was also an avid Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badger fan.

Survivors include his three children: Connie (Loren) Nix, Lancaster; Jane (Rick Parrish) Morehouse, Bettendorf, IA; John (Sabina Koziel) Larson, Seattle, WA: four grandchildren: Stephanie Ann Butcher, Joshua (Mandie) Morehouse, Abbey (Steve) Peterson, and Jenna (Dustin Caras) Morehouse; two great-grandchildren: Declan and Lucan Peterson; a sister, Betty Jackson, California; other relatives and many friends.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce on January 26, 2003; and a brother, Emery Larson.

Karen M. Latham

Karen M. (Wienkers) Latham, age 71, of Lancaster, died unexpectedly on Saturday, March 13, 2010, at her home. She was born on June 26, 1938, in Racine, the daughter of Francis and Blanche (Nechvatal) Wienkers. Karen graduated from Montfort High School in 1956. She furthered her education at Madison General School of Nursing, graduating in 1959. On January 11, 1960, she was united in marriage to Roger Latham in Kenosha. Karen worked in various types of nursing most of her married life. She was the ideal nurse who truly loved everybody. Her last twenty-three years of nursing were with Unified Counseling in Lancaster. Karen was very dedicated and involved in her Catholic faith at St. Clement Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband of fifty years, Roger Latham, Lancaster; her children: Kim Latham, Bloomington; Julie (Aaron) Anderson, Phoenix, AZ; three very special grandchildren: Cody, Ashlee, and Amanda Kirschbaum; one extra special great-grandson, Brady Matthew Martin; two sisters: Pat Jones, Mineral Point; Pauline Gay, Monona; four brothers: Charles Wienkers, Bellingham, WA; Jerry Wienkers, Kenosha; Joe Wienkers, Las Vegas, NV; and Kevin Wienkers, Green Bay.

In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by a sister, Marilyn Hoffmann and a son, Eric Latham.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster with Father William Seipp officiating. Carl R. Lau

Carl R. Lau, age 85, of Cassville, died on Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster. He was born on June 6, 1923 in Cassville, the son of Charles and Gertrude (Dresen) Lau.He was drafted into the U. S. Army in 1943 and served until 1946. He was a private First Class in the 202^nd Anti Aircraft Artillery (automatic weapons) Battalion in New Guinea and the southern Philippines, in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. He married Ruth Adrian on October 29, 1949 at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville. Carl worked for the Department of Natural Resources at Nelson Dewey State Park. He was employed from 1951 until his retirement as Head Ranger in 1985. Carl was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church and of the VFW Post 7080 both in Cassville.

Carl is survived by his wife, Ruth of 59 years, Cassville; his son, John (Debra) Lau, Cassville and his daughter, Julie (Larry) Leonard, Columbus; five grandchildren: Katie Lau, Grinnell, IA, Maggie (Dan) Kartman, Fennimore, Ashley Lau, LaCrosse, Sean Bonson, Belleville, WI and Sarah Bonson, Canada; one great-granddaughter, Demmy French, Canada; a sister, Retha Bausch, Dubuque, IA and a brother, Fred (Margaret) Lau, LaCrosse.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; Lucille and Adelaide Lau; five brothers, Virgil, Vincent, Herbert, Chris and Ivan Lau and a great-grandson, Ryker John Kartman.

Debra J. Lau

Debra J. Lau, age 56, of Cassville, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, July 26, 2009, at the Finley Hospital in Dubuque. She was born on June 27, 1953, in Portage, WI, the daughter of Harold and Gladys (Major) Bethke. Debra graduated from Cassville High School in 1971. She furthered her education at the University of Wisconsin at LaCrosse where she earned a degree in teaching in 1975. On July 23, 1977, she was united in marriage to John Lau at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville. Debra was employed with the Cassville School system from 1979 through the present. She enjoyed reading, gardening, camping and traveling with friends. Debra loved spending time with her family and attending her childrens activities. The students and teachers in Cassville were a very important part of her life. Debra was an avid Green Bay Packers and Brewers fan. She was a member of the Cassville Homemakers and the Cassville United Methodist Womens Group.

Survivors include her husband, John Lau, Cassville; her children: Katie Lau, Grinnell, IA; Maggie (Dan) K., Fennimore; Ashley Lau, LaCrosse; one granddaughter, Keira K., Fennimore; her parents: Harold and Gladys Bethke, Platteville; her brother and sister: Scott (Dawn) Bethke, Sun Prairie; Jane (Bill) Russell, Verona; and her mother-in-law, Ruth Lau, Cassville; other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Carl Lau and a grandson, Ryker K.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, July 30, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville with Father John Norder officiating and Pastor Mary Ann Floerke assisting. Rosetta L. Lau

Rosetta Lucille Lau, age 96, of Cassville, WI, died Thursday, August 4, 2011, at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster. She was born on September 3, 1914, in Cassville, the daughter of James and Rosa (Caspers) Dolphin. Rosetta was united in marriage to Leo F. Lau at St. Charles Catholic Church. She was a homemaker as well as a seamstress. Additionally, she was employed at the Sandbar Motel. Rosetta enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, walking the dog and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church.

Rosetta is survived by a daughter, Sharon (Ken) Schauff, Cassville; three grandchildren: Torey (Shannon Coco) Schauff, Belleville; Melissa (Chris) Hoffmann, Brooklyn Park, MN; Bridget Schauff, Madison; six great-grandchildren: Alex and Maxwell Schauff, Tyler, Autumn, Trey and Ashlyn Hoffmann; foster child, Cynthia Kauffman Zittlow; other relatives and many friends.

In addition to her parents, Rosetta was preceded in death by her husband and her four sisters: Leona Heraty, Luella Cody, Colleen Turner, and Helen Biggin.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 8, 2011, at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville, with Father John Meinholz and Father William Seipp officiating. Burial was in St. Charles Cemetery, Cassville. Visitation was from 10:00 a.m. until time of services on Monday at the church. Martin Funeral Home in Cassville is serving her family.

Ruth E. Lau

Ruth E. Lau, age 88, of Cassville, died on Friday, January 29, 2010, at the Lancaster Care Center in Lancaster. She was born on November 12, 1921, in Cassville, the daughter of John and Gertrude (Kirschbaum) Adrian. She attended country school and graduated from Cassville High School. On October 29, 1949, Ruth was united in marriage to Carl R. Lau at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville. Ruth was a seamstress and a devout Catholic. She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church and its CCW. Ruth loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and attending their activities. Ruth was an avid reader and would often clip articles from newspapers and fill in the crossword puzzles. She loved watching Badger basketball and football.

Survivors include her children: John Lau, Cassville; Julie (Larry) Leonard, Columbus; five grandchildren: Katie Lau, Grinnell, IA; Maggie (Dan) K., Fennimore; Ashley Lau, Cassville; Sean Bonson, Verona; Sarah Bonson, Canada; two great-granddaughters, Demmy French, Canada; and Keira K., Fennimore.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Carl on November 11, 2008; her daughter-in-law, Debra Lau on July 26, 2009; a great-grandson, Ryker John K. on May 25, 2007; and her brothers and sisters: Hubert Adrian, Jack Adrian, Gladys Orcutt and Irene Adrian.

Belva J. Laufenberg

Belva J. Laufenberg, 76, Mt. Hope, passed away on Monday, January 2, 2012, at Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital. She was born on September 12, 1935, in Wyalusing Township, the daughter of Frank and Mabel (Clark) Ward. Belva graduated from Bloomington High School. On June 28, 1954, she was united in marriage to Carl Laufenberg at St. Lawrence OToole Catholic Church in Mt. Hope. After their marriage, the couple raised four daughters in Mt. Hope, where they have resided for the past 57 years. In 1979, Belva began employment as a cook at the West Grant School and remained there until her retirement. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, traveling, fishing, and playing marbles and cards. Belvas greatest passion was her family. She loved spending time with her immediate as well as extended family and looked forward to family get-togethers. Belva was a member of St. Lawrence OToole Catholic Church and was also a member of a bowling league in Prairie du Chien.

Survivors include her loving husband, Carl Laufenberg, Mt. Hope; three daughters, Vickie (Greg) Heiar, Berlin; Sharon (Todd Yeomans) Morgan, Prairie du Chien; Ruth (Thad) McIntosh, Prairie du Chien; six grandchildren, Nicholas Morgan, Correne (Randy) Martin, Miranda (Jermicah) Jackson, Douglas Heiar, Kylie McIntosh, and Devin McIntosh; two great-grandchildren, Anton and Joselynn Jackson; one sister, Irene Ferris, Madison; a sister-in-law, Virginia Ward, Bloomington; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

In addition to her parents, Belva was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Betty; her sisters and brother, Marion Gilstrap, Earl Ward and Doris Stanflley.

Dolores I. Laufenberg

Dolores I. Laufenberg, age 94, of rural Beetown, died on Saturday, May 5, 2012, at her home.

She was born on October 29, 1917, of Potosi Township, the daughter of Charles and Mary (Miller) Pitzen. On March 27, 1940, Dolores married Marcus Laufenberg in Dubuque, IA. Dolores and Marcus recently celebrated their 72^nd Wedding Anniversary.

Dolores enjoyed visiting with family and friends. She also enjoyed camping, fishing, playing cards, and baking cookies for her grandchildren prior to her illness.

Surviving are her husband, Marcus; four children: Anita Berg, Anoka, MN; Richard (Karen) Laufenberg, Windsor; Dennis (Judy) Laufenberg, Cassville; Nancy (Michael) Vogt, Wesley Chapel, FL; eight grandchildren: Steve (Kim) Berg, Bryan (Krisi) Berg, Marty (Amy) Laufenberg, Lisa (John) Scullion, Michael Laufenberg, David (Kristi) Laufenberg, Matthew (Ashley) Laufenberg, James (Dione) Laufenberg; six great-grandchildren; two sisters: Lucille Edge, Superior; Dorothy Burggraf, Cave Creek, AZ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers: Leo, Fritz, Ed, Donald and Harold Pitzen, five sisters: Mildred Reuter, Esther Adams, Isabelle Kreiser, Gladys Pitzen and Florence Leibfried.

Gerald R. Laufenberg

Gerald R. Laufenberg, age 74, passed away Sunday March 23, 2014 at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster. He was born August 23, 1939, son of Leo and Orpha (Klarman) Laufenberg. Gerald graduated from Lancaster High School in 1957. He was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and served overseas. He married Donna L. Dixon on September 20, 1975 at the Lancaster United Methodist Church. Gerald was employed at Peoples Oil and later worked at Turner Motors for over 30 years. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, VFW Post # 2344, American Legion Post # 109, and a forty six year member of the Lancaster Fire Department. Gerald enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, family and friends.

Surviving is his wife, Donna; a son, Cory (Katie Schwantes); a daughter, Cara (Brad) Drew; four grandchildren, Kyra, Avery, Reese and Jaicee; three sisters, Carloyn (Ron) Howell, Linda Swecker, Susan (Perry) Ahnen; a brother, Larry (Bonnie) Laufenberg; a sister in law, Gale (Gary) Roesch; a brother in law, Dennis (Debbie) Dixon; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Orpha Laufenberg; a brother Leo Bobie Laufenberg; and his father and mother in law Bae and Catherine Dixon.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Lancaster, with Pastor Mark Hoehne officiating. Burial will be held at a later date. Marcus Laufenberg

Marcus L. Laufenberg, age 95, of Cassville, passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2014, at his residence. He was born on September 15, 1919, the son of Charles and Selma (Jack) Laufenberg. On March 27, 1940, Marcus was united in marriage to Dolores Pitzen in Dubuque, IA. He has farmed on the Laufenberg family farm in Beetown Township his entire life. Marcus enjoyed fishing, gardening, and being able to fix almost anything.

Survivors include three children: Richard (Karen) Laufenberg, Windsor; Dennis (Judy) Laufenberg, Cassville; Nancy (Michael) Vogt, Wesley Chapel, FL; eight grandchildren: Steve (Kim) Berg, Bryan (Krisi) Berg, Marty (Amy) Laufenberg, Lisa (John) Scullion, Michael Laufenberg, David (Kristi) Laufenberg, Matthew (Ashley) Laufenberg, James (Dione) Laufenberg; seven great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Dolores, Marcus was preceded in death by a daughter, Anita (Paul) Berg; his brothers: Leo (Orpha), Vernon (Alta), and Louie Laufenberg.

Orpha M. Laufenberg

Orpha M. Laufenberg, age 90, of Lancaster died Saturday, January 17, 2009 at the Lancaster Care Center. She was born on January 13, 1919, the daughter of John and Stella (Atkinson) Klarman in Dubuque, Iowa. Orpha married her sweetheart, Leo Laufenberg on June 6, 1939 in Dubuque, Iowa. They lived most of their lives in the Lancaster home that Leo built for Orpha and their children. She made a career of being a loving wife and devoted mother. Her family is proud to say that she never retired from this career.

Orpha enjoyed gardening and had a large and bountiful vegetable garden for years. She never drove a car but enjoyed going for rides all around Grant County. In recent years, she had adventures with her daughters in Minneapolis and Charlotte, NC.

Orpha is survived by her five children: Gerald (Donna) Laufenberg, Larry (Bonnie) Laufenberg, all of Lancaster; Carolyn (Ron) Howell, Fennimore; Linda Swecker, Dubuque, IA; and Susan (Perry) Ahnen, Lancaster; ten grandchildren: Cory, Cara, Sara, Jolyn, Tracy, Angel, Nikki, Jason, Candi and Mac; and twelve great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leo on May 22, 1994 and her son, Leo Bobie on July 19, 1969.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 21, 2009, at the Lancaster Care Center in Lancaster with Pastor Mark Hoehne officiating. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster. Family and friends were welcomed from 1:00 p.m. until time of services at the Care Center.

Dorothy M. Laugesen

Dorothy M. Laugesen, age 94, of Potosi, died on Thursday, October 20, 2011, at the Lancaster Care Center. She was bornon December 13, 1916, in Waterloo Township, the daughter of Harry and Ida (Reed) Stoney. Dorothy attended Wamsley School. On February 11, 1937, she was united in marriage to Charles E. Laugesen in Dubuque, IA. After their marriage, Dorothy raised their family in Burton. For a short time, they relocated to Madison and Kenosha, then back to Burton. Dorothy was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Burton, where she also taught Sunday school. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, baking and helping others. Dorothy would often leave pieces of pie for the mailman. She was a 4-H leader and taught children to sew. Dorothy especially enjoyed spending time with her family and taking day trips with Cathy Nix. She also appreciated her handymen, Larry and Kevin, who assisted her with various projects.

Survivors include her four children: Patricia (Art) Altergott, Las Vegas, NV; Ronald (Sally) Laugesen, Los Gatos, CA; Jerome (Beverly) Laugesen, Mt. Hope; Claudia (Gary) Duval, Green Bay; a daughter-in-law, Vicki Laugesen, Dubuque, IA; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren; two sisters: Hilma Donaldson and Hilda Novinski, both of Lancaster; other relatives and many friends.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, a son, Dennis, two brothers, Laverne and Dale Stoney; and a sister, Violet Peak.

Robert Lees

Robert W. Lees, age 82, of Bagley, passed away on Monday, April 20, 2015, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse. He was born on January 20, 1933, in Racine, the son of Wesley and Vivian (Barr) Lees. Robert attended Horlick High School and St. Catherine's High School in Racine. He entered the United States Army and served his country during the Korean Conflict until his honorable discharge. On April 11, 1959, Robert was united in marriage to Jane St. Amour at St. Rose Catholic Church in Racine. After their marriage, Robert was employed as a bricklayer throughout Racine. The couple moved to Bagley in June of 1990 after retirement. Robert was a member of the Liscum Brothers American Legion Post No. 482 of Bagley and the Royal Neighbors. He enjoyed woodworking, bird watching and playing pool.

Survivors include his loving wife, Jane; ten children: Leslie (Dave) Wentzell; Pamela Cruzen; Felicia (John) Murphy; Robert (Evie) Lees; William (Susan) Lees; Nancy (Al) Pederson; Sara (Rich) Stanton; John (Kim) Lees; Matthew (Alma) Lees; Anne (Gene) Hewlett; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Tom (Deb) Lees; other relatives and many friends.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his brothers, Jerry (Winnie) and Mike Lees and a sister, Jackie Czernik.

Funeral services were held on Monday, April 27, 2015, at 12:00 noon at Martin Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Bloomington with Reverend Pamela Strakeljahn officiating. Helen R. Leeser

Helen R. Leeser, age 86, of Lancaster, passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2008, at the Lancaster Care Center, Lancaster. She was born in Burton, WI on September 12, 1922, the daughter of Adam Ted and Julia (Elskamp) Mink. Helen graduated from Lancaster High School in 1940. After graduation, she worked for Williams Mobil Oil and the Soil Conservation Service. Helen was united in marriage to Lawrence J. Leeser on June 8, 1944 at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster. Together they farmed in the Ellenboro area. After Lawrences death on November 27, 1972, she continued to remain active in farming with her sons. Helen also worked as clerk of Ellenboro Township and at Doll Hardware for many years.

She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Helen loved farm life and being outdoors where she enjoyed gardening, yard work, feeding birds, hunting mushrooms and squirrel hunting. She enjoyed taking bus trips with her friends and always had time to help someone.

She is survived by her three sons: Ronald (Susan), Gary and Doug Leeser all of Lancaster; one granddaughter, Rebecca (Jack) Andree, Norton Shores, MI; three grandsons, Kirk, Larson, WI, Travis (Amy) and Brett (Teresa) Leeser, both of Rochester, MN; eight great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Mary Mink, Prairie du Chien; two special cousins, Joyce Koelker, Cassville and Darlene Potter, Cassville.

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence; one sister, Mae Day and six brothers: Virgil, Leland Gus, Donald, Keith, Claude and Herbert Mink.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, December 29, 2008 at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Potosi, with Father Richard Leffler officiating. Burial was in St. Thomas Cemetery, Potosi Township. Friends called from 2:00 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 28, 2008 at the Schwartz Funeral Home in Lancaster where there was a Scripture Service at 2:00 p.m. Friends also called from 9:30 a.m. until time of services Monday at the church.

David D. Lefeber

David D. Lefeber, age 64, of Cassville, died on Wednesday, June 08, 2011, at his home in Cassville. He was born on June 22, 1946, in Johnsburg, the son of Leo and Adeline (Sabel) Lefeber. Dave graduated from New Holstein High School. He furthered his education at the University of Wisconsin at Platteville graduating with a degree in elementary education. Dave was a teacher at Potosi for thirty-two years, retiring in 2001. He integrated his love for the outdoors into the classroom. Dave was instrumental in the outdoor education program and developing nature areas and a courtyard, which he used to educate many students. He was a hands on teacher. On May 18, 1968, Dave was united in marriage to Gretchen Stoehr at St. Patricks Church in Fond du Lac. In 1971, they purchased a farm in Waterloo Township, where he has resided until his death. Dave obtained a Masters Degree in 1975. On April 13, 1985, Dave was united in marriage to Ruth Stern at Davies Memorial United Church of Christ in Potosi. Dave was a scout leader for over twenty years. He was an avid outdoorsman. Dave enjoyed fishing, camping and gardening. He was a master horticulturalist as well as a master breeder and a nationally recognized breeder of breed standard Wyandotte show chickens. Dave was a humanitarian and had a passion for all he did in life. His greatest love was his family; he truly enjoyed time spent with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Lefeber, Cassville; his children: Chad (Charlie) Lefeber, Blue River; Dana (Matt) Kiederlen, Whitewater; Jeanna (Gary) Grahl, Sturgeon Bay; Judd (Jen) Lefeber, Watertown; Ronna Lefeber, Platteville; Wade Lefeber, Cassville; ten grandchildren: Mujaahid, Andrea, Nicholas, Elizabeth, Cierra, Rylee, Isabella, Abigail, Moriah and Brant; three great-grandchildren; six brothers and three sisters.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents.

To honor Daves wishes, there was no services. Dave and his family appreciate those who attended his Celebration of Life Services that were held Sunday, June 5, 2011. Burial will be at a later date. Martin Funeral Home in Potosi is assisting the family.

Patrick S. Leh, MD

Patrick S. Leh, MD, age 83, of Lancaster, formerly of Green Bay, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 28, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 17, 1934, in China, the son of He Cheng Leh and So Yio Ty. Patrick grew up in Manila, Philippines and earned his medical degree from the University of Santo Tomas. In May of 1967, he was united in marriage to Erlinda in Manila. After their marriage, they moved to Canada and began their family. In 1969, the family moved to Wisconsin where Patrick continued to practice medicine until his retirement at the age of 70. He had a passion for his work and enjoyed reading and spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his loving wife of nearly 50 years, Erlinda; their children: Patricia (David) Murphy; Michelle (James) Rameker; Anissa (David) Arienta; Steven (Jane) Leh; 14 grandchildren; one sister, Siu Gun (Bonyan) Vismanos.

In addition to his parents, Patrick was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Leh; a sister, Peh Hap (Venancio) Ong.

Bernadine Leibfried

Bernadine C. Leibfried, age 93, of Epione Pavilion, Cuba City, formerly at 176 N. Main Street, Potosi, WI, died Wednesday, April 8, 2015, at Epione Pavilion. Bernadine was born on November 4, 1921, in Potosi Township, the daughter of Charles & Mary (Gladding) Cogan. Bernadine married Cyril F. Leibfried on December 27, 1939 in Potosi at St. Thomas Parish. He preceded her in death on September 26, 1996.

Mom was a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her home, family, and her children. Her family and her farm were her life. She very much enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Bernadine is survived by her four children; William (Mary) Leibfried of Hazel Green, Mary Ellen (Loran) Schonhoff of East Dubuque, IL, Ronald Leibfried of Hazel Green, and Carol (Gary) Haas of Hazel Green; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cyril; her parents; a son, David; a sister, Clara (Clarence) Fuerstenberg; and two brothers, Joseph Cogan and Leo (Bernice) Cogan.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 13, 2015, at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Tennyson, with Fr. Richard Leffler officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Catherine Leibfried

Catherine Leibfried, age 104, of Lancaster, died on Saturday, October 1, 2011, at her home. She was born on February 16, 1907, at home in South Lancaster Township, the daughter of Martin and Mary (Dressler) Reynolds. Catherine attended Hurricane School and also St. Clement School during the winter. On November 16, 1925, she was united in marriage to Walter J. Leibfried at St. Clement Catholic Church. Catherine wallpapered many homes and was also employed at Schwartz Phillips Hardware Store as well as Montgomery Ward Catalog. She and her husband owned and operated Creekwood Farms in Lancaster. Catherine was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church and a lifetime member of the Catholic Daughters of America Court of St. Rita No. 670. She dearly loved raising her family and devoted herself to them. Catherine enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting, baking, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her four daughters: Helen (Donovan) Krohn, Verona; Joan (Leonard) Stitch, Morrisville, PA; Katie (Larry Laker Schildgen) Schindler, and Mary (Rodger) Janssen, all of Lancaster; twelve grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Catherine was preceded in death by two sons: Robert and Thomas; a brother, Herman Butch Reynolds; two sisters: Clara Reynolds and Theresa Ludwig; granddaughter, Sharon Krohn; a nephew, Roger Ludwig; and a special daughter-in-law, Sally Leibfried.

Funeral services were on Friday, October 7, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster with Father William Seipp officiating. Burial was in St. Clement Cemetery, Lancaster. Family and friends called on Friday, October 7, 2011, from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. In lieu of plants and flowers, a Catherine E. Leibfried Memorial Fund has been established with contributions being given to Grant County Hospice and Schreiner Memorial Library for the purchase of audio books. Schwartz Funeral Home in Lancaster is assisting the family.

Denis H. Leibfried

Denis H. Leibfried, age 82, of Potosi, passed away Thursday August 11, 2011. He was born on March 25^th, 1929, son of Clarence and Clara (Abing) Leibfried. He married Dolores Winkler on August 8^th, 1950 at St. Andrew Church in Tennyson and they just celebrated 61 years of marriage by enjoying a pontoon ride with family & friends on the Mississippi river.

Denis went to work for his Dad after high school at Tennyson Implement and eventually worked and owned the business for over forty years. He worked there with his friend and brother-in-law Earl Friederick. When he wasnt running the Implement, he operated his own 300 acre farm while also raising ten children.

Denis helped organize St Andrew Choir with some friends soon after high school and sang in this choir for many years. He served as President of Holy Name Society and was usher for St Andrews. He was a member of the Catholic Knights for over 50 years.

He coached the St Andrew basketball team. He started playing softball in the outfield for Tennyson Athletic Club one year out of high school and soon after started pitching. He became one of the best fast-pitch pitchers in the tri-state area and pitched for many teams. He was selected for the Kiwanis Fast-Pitch Hall of Fame and the Dubuque Fast-Pitch Hall of Fame. He was also part of an elite group inducted into the very first Boscobel Fast-Pitch Hall of Fame.

Denis was very witty and never hesitated with a comeback answer for any conversation. (You hot dog) He liked flowers but liked them better in someone elses yard, so he didnt have to mow around them.

His hobbies and interests included watching the Yankees on television and bowling on Saturday nights with his wife, family, and friends. He started bowling at a young age and continued to bowl at the age of 82. He also loved fishing, fast-pitch softball, turkey hunting, bowling, deer hunting and the Packers . Denis loved all his children and grandchildren very much and mostly loved to watch them play sports.

Those living to tell the fishing tales are his loving wife of 61 years, Dolores Leibfried, and his 10 children: Alan, Duane (Connie Roderick), Terry, Kevin, Denise (Ladder Stelpflug), Chris (Dan Fiedler), Mary (Brad Saunders) Gerry (Tweet Leibfried), Jane(Shawn OBrien) and Gary Leibfried. His memory will live on through 23 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; two sisters: Rita (friend Don) Reinecke and Pat Friederick.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Clara Leibfried, his brother, Donald Leibfried and grandchildren, Kyle and Jeff Leibfried, a brother-in-law, Earl Friederick and a nephew, Paul Reinecke.

Funeral services were held on Monday, August 15, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Tennyson with Father Richard Leffler officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Family and friends called on Sunday, August 14, 2011, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. In lieu of plants and flowers, a Denis H. Leibfried memorial fund has been established. Martin Funeral Home in Potosi is serving the family.
